Louie, that is why I asked why you were selling him....is he not getting along with the other roosters?

I have to sell him because the only hens that I have for him (as of March) will be 15 Buff Orpington hens and my one Red Sex Link

Nate - Don't know what line he came from. I bought him at the Tractor Supply Co. twenty minutes from our house

Oh, ok. So he is from hatchery stock(TSQ) - Which would explain why he has white/light legs - a TRUE welsummer should have CORN YELLOW legs! Leg color is the FIRST THING THAT I CULL FOR! I dont even look at the bird, until I get rid of all the ones that have white/off colored legs, afer that culling then I go for size/color, and comb last!

I would say if you can get $8.00 for him you'd be doing well. $10 would be pushing it i think. That is what i would sell my culls for that are not up to breeding standard. Just my opinion.

I'd love to keep Wellies also, maybe in a different pen, but I already ordered my Buff Orpingtons. I think that, after we settle down to BOs, I'll hatch some Wellie eggs and raise them too!

Question:
If I had 16 BOs (including the one BO rooster that I'm buying) and about four or five Wellie hens with one Wellie rooster all in my ONE pen (picture below) would the Wellie roo try to breed with the BO hens and the BO roo with the Wellie hens?

Here's my coop/run:

Its a wonder why all my Wellies got CORN YELLOW legs.......Nate, you might have to go to the legs contest and select a winner LOL! I think one of your bantams got more of an orangey yellow, I mean bright ORANGE LOL....I swore it has to come from my Layena/Flock Raiser feeds I've been giving them LOL!
