Whatever works best for him. I wouldn't sell my boy, if he wants him he can have him. I just ask that the shipping is covered.

I have welsummer chicks arriving from Whitmore Farm soon.. I'm SO excited!!! Love the egg coloring.. I hope the pullets I get will lay a nice speckled egg for me..

Last time I emailed him was on the 25th and he did say he is going to be very busy coming up, trying to get things going on the buildings before adding any more new birds. It was not easy for him and wants everyone to have the best Welsummers they can get.
One thing I am glad, I am not in his shoes with all the bird losses and predators coming left and right nabbing my birds. I would give those predators a taste of rat poison or a .22 bullet. And I would be sick at heart at the losses. That is why I dont give any of the girls any names yet. Only three has names, they are a different breed except for one Welsummer, who is my oldest, Summer.
I don't like speckled eggs but love the hue on Nate's eggs! Deep terra cotta to "wet" terra cotta. (as you pour water on a dried terra cotta pot, to get a darker color). I love my Nate girls!

I can only imagine how he's feeling, losing that many birds at once.
I know how hard it was for me Tuesday when I lost my favorite hen (and only broody) to a fox that climbed a 6 foot tall fence. I'm still down about it, but trying to work to keep the rest safe. They are not happy spending the day inside the coop today. I'm picking up a trap tomorrow to hopefully catch the bugger.
I hope he continues with wellies though, he's got a lot of experience with them.

I can not believe a fox would even attempt to climb a 6 ft fence. Are you sure its not a weasel?
