The Welsummer Thread!!!!

So if I'm reading correctly do Welsummer Hens have the eyeliner and Roos don't? Is this s for sure way to sex them from day one? Both mine have eyeliner, but their combs seem bigger than the other chicks (different breeds). We bought them as pullets, but I know its not always a sure thing. I would be so sad if they were roos

Puffy cheeks helped me narrow it down to 4!
Here is an individual picture of the 4 chipmunk eyeliner chicks without puffy cheeks.
Can you spot which is an americauna masquerading as a welsummer???










I couldn't get them all to pose in the same position, but these 4 all have the same size cheeks (your tip helped me weed out like 5 more I wasn't sure of)

These look like Welsummers to me. Anyone else?

I ordered from there as well mine are shipping around the same time hopefully it will go well! It's my first time ordering I wanted more (for sure) pullets as I have 20+ straight runs! Good luck!

I think the hatchery made an error and gave me one extra welsummer and shorted me an americauna, because all 4 look the same to me too!

Just thought I'd share a pic of my Aussie Welsummer, Beatrice (that's our other Wellie, Dot in the background).
She's just moulted so is looking lovely in a new set of feathers.
She's super smart and I joke that we're sworn enemies.... I have never had a hen that held a grudge like Beatrice!
