Also wanted to add...I have her in quarantine because I worry about my flock. She's being dusted for Mia just in case and wormed.
 
Can you experienced Welsummer owners tell me approximately when we can expect our young ladies to start laying?
I've had them start laying as early as 5 months of age and as late as 9 months of age. I'd say as an average it would be right at 6 months. I have seen others on hear say theirs have taken even longer than 9 months. When their combs turn from pale pink to a bright blood red then it usually isn't long before they begin to lay.

Thanks. We a ways to go. Our Welsummers are around 16 weeks. We have Marans too, but I know they take longer to mature.
 
Johnn - It is a girl. Coloring is girl, hackle is girl, no saddle feathers = pullet, pullet, pullet. A male would look nothing like that.
