I also say the one on the left is a roo. I had one of each too. They were hatched early last May. The roo is awful. Mean and nasty to me, but my husband and kids he doesn't bother with. I'm ready to put him in the pot. He's beautiful and even dances for his girls, but I can't even get in the coop to take care of them during day hours, and when he's out and about, he'll sneak up behind me and let me have it. His nubs are now now turning into claws and those spurs are awful. He got me in the hand the other day when I reached through the nest box to replace their waterer. I've tried everything to make him nice and it's just not working. I can't even bend down to pick him up as he'll just attack me.![]()
That sounds awful! I'd get rid of him in a hurry.
I have a Basque rooster that is mostly nice, but very high energy. Every once in a while he'll come up behind me and bite me on the leg. I pin him to the ground and then carry him around, holding his head down for a bit. That usually buys me another couple weeks of niceness, before I have to repeat.
