Thanks for the question. All have that softer down that extends from the back end to the thighs. Normally most of the "skirt" is covered by other more dense feathering. In this picture the angle is one reason it looks "rounder" the other is that I whistled to make her stop mid-stride so the step of the leg and thigh is making it protrude as well. Here is another angle the same day.what's with the fluff on the above welsummer? is that normal?

I thought welsummer eggs were darker, but if that's them, Tabitha may be laying. I have a few like that. I figured they were miscolored barred rock, speckled sussex or australorp. When you have several breeds that lay brown eggs, it's hard *for me* to tell who laid what, except the EE with her mint-green egg.Thanks for the question.
