The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Picked up from a local breeder. They sourced theirs from Whitmore farms up in Maryland as far as I know.

I got mine as hatching eggs from Whitmore Farm in Maryland. They sell hatching eggs, day old chicks and I believe they ship. I'm close enough I could drive to pick them up.

Where has everyone found their Welsummers? Hatchery vs a breeder? They arent common where I am, curious about how y'all have found them.

I got some from ideal have 5 pullets 15 weeks ..they are very pretty girls for hatchery stock.. and picked up some eggs from a breeder in ar he is on this thread also really dark eggs have 12 chicks now 9 weeks ....

I got my one and only in an assorted bin at TSC. This is Miss Sassafrass.


When she was a lil chick, she would sit on top of everyone, now they sit on her.

well I will try tomorrow cant get one to upload ... they are really nice bigger than I thought with pretty good color.

They are a bit too big too roost up there now. The other ws was perched on the hanging extension cord!

Not a Welsummer.......leghorn mix maybe, with the white earlobe and big floppy comb?
Where did you get her?
