I can't wait for my wellie to get bigger. Such pretty birds.

I have two Welsummer babies right now, Reba and Loretta. Although we are finding we may have to rename Reba something a little less femanine... we shall see. They are going through their "awkward" stage right now, but Loretta is quite lovely and sweet when she wants to be! Reba (possibly Cash) is a little less friendly and a LOT louder.

yeah i know ..its very intresting watching them change as they grow ..ya start seeing their personality as well ..i have one that always hangs close to levon..its like they are buddys ..another one likes to challange everyone else ..she runs up to another bird and raises her head as high as she can ..i no they are setting the pecking order but its funny to watch her try and be taller then the others..

I couldnt find any Wesummer chicks in the farm stores this year. Last year I lost both of mine to a predator and really miss having them. Beautiful, gentle and prolific layers of wonderfully deep dark eggs.

That's cute.
I only have one and she's such a tiny bantam. As my older ones are now streaming past her in size, I am thinking about putting her with the babies. She wouldn't even squish them.
