And then from the other pen, these kids are 15 weeks old.

The breasts on these girls are so dark! They are just lovely!

Their little roo wasn't in the mood for picture-taking, unfortunately. He's a real looker, too. He has the clearest hackles... But that is useless info without a picture.

Nice to see some pics! I'll have to get some of mine up eventually.

I love the temperment and colors of my wellies- but I have to say I'm a little disappointed in their size. Do they ever get big? I must be spoiled by my orps & cochins

Beautiful! It makes me realize just how much mine will change in the next few weeks. (mine are 12 1/2 weeks old)

I'll have to get some updated pics of mine (after the rainstorm we're having is done). And before I integrate them with the grown ups.

Thanks for the compliments! And yes, more pics! I love looking at everyone's Wellies. Especially the roos. I've never been a big fan of roos in general, but I find myself absolutely in love with my Welsummer roos.

Here's what I've noticed with my older Welsummer hens. They do seem thin and smallish, right up till point of lay. Then they fill out. A lot! My big girls seem comparable to my (hatchery) buff orp. A little bit smaller. They're not huge birds. But not small birds, either. Kinda midsized, bordering on big.

Those older roos pictured above, they seem pretty big to me... And I'm sure they have a lot of growing left to do.

She just started laying eggs about a week ago!

They are speckled, but I hoped they would be darker...hmmm...

Well it is offical, welsummeritis is definetly contagious! I can remember when people used to ask me whats a welsummer? And it was'nt that long ago!!! Keep them dark eggs coming! I need to get out and take some more photos, but I think I will wait till it warms up a bit, so here is a photo of some of the ol'girls.
