The Welsummer Thread!!!!

I am looking for all of his fathers traits with the exception of 2, Odin's comb and his monsterous size. Here is a pic of Loki next to his father and I am thinking that maybe he will get a little of the size factor but not as much as his dad. Must get another breeding pen built.

Here is Loki being a good boy and telling the girls about a huge carpenter ant.

and just for giggles here is another shot of him. Wish his front point would get bigger and more noticeable, but even if it doesn't I'm good with it.

Thanks! They are soooooo much fun, I love my Wellies and hope to do the breed justice one of these days. I was in 4-H while growing up....it was a blast and a great experience. I just know your DD will have fun.

Well Pinkchick, I think Loki is very handsome. His first comb point ............maybe it will just havta be his trademark to show his uniqueness. You must be proud of your flock since they are looking very pretty.

Thanks! I love them too pieces! Once someone commented to me that Welsummers were boring... her statement "they all look the same......boring.....don'tcha ever get tired of all the same ol' looking birds?" To each his/her own I told her. I just can't imagine having chickens and not having this breed.

Ahaah I never did worry about other's comment that I thought were foolish. So many times folks say stuff like "Why are you moving there ? All the people are hicks ?" Well have you ever been there ? Oh and my favorite is the doctor who tell you how the medication makes you feel and you know that he/she is not taking that particular medication. Double duh !!
Like Ewe said more for us and they don't know a good bird when they see one.........or two or how many and how about the EGGS ?????? triple duh !
