I keep thinking about shipping chicks, but the thought of it terrifies me. My chicks never hatch out on the same day, usually over a three day period. I think the first to hatch would use up all their yolk by the time the last hatchers are ready to ship. Maybe if I had a big cabinet incubator

... some day maybe lol

Thanks! I am thinking I will try again in the fall. It is kinda funny, I have a friend who has nice Wheaten Marans, and my heart is set on more Wellies. I know I will get them when I am supposed to have them, and not a minute sooner.

Next bator full will be eggs driven home from Harold's! We have great hopes for that hatch. This bator full is due to hatch Wellies over the weekend as lockdown starts Friday and it is hatching across all next week!

Looks like I will be going to Lansing Michigan CHICKENSTOCK around June 25th as well and meeting up with lotsa chicken breeders. So wonderful to connect with other breeders. Opa is going to try to have some there for me as well. Anyone see the photo of his fabulous roo with the Great SOP Wattles?? Oh JOY!

So in a month, I will have all the Wellies I need to grow and and form the basis of my flock of Wellies. I am so happy!

Opa has some beautiful Wellies and goreous eggs too! His birds are 100% Calicowoods, not much different than mine which they would have been brothers/sisters to my Calicowood hen.
