Bonnie cocked her head but said nothing. She decided to study the other free chickens. She noticed that all their feathers were shiny, with not a single feather broken or missing. Bonnie twisted her her head around to look at hers. Yikes, she thought as she scanned the feathers on her back. There were patches missing everywhere! Bonnie noted that not only were the free chickens' feathers healthy, she also noticed their claws, combs, and faces, while Bonnie's own were chipped, dirty, and pale. Maybe I'll look like that someday.
