the Will They Hatch? thread

It was always harder waiting for them to "hatch".

I miss having horses, though not the feed bill; was riding and training literally before school age. I sold my last horses when I was around 40; it was the first time in my life I was without something to throw a saddle on and it was kinda hard to deal with it at the time. I know better than to want one today; my back and neck are history and no way can I ride anymore.

You're smarter then me....I have three horses and need back surgery and have a messed up neck so I can't ride...but since they were born in my lap I can't bring myself to sell them. Pretty expensive lawn ornaments. I still believe I'll ride again someday...

I have an expensive lawn ornament myself.... He is 25-27 years old. I have not ridden him in about 5 years

My kids have no interest in horses, I was obsessed from birth. OOO how I wish just 1 of my kids were interested, I would run out and get a nice horse, give them lessons, get them showing etc... *sigh* the good ol' days!
Fortunatly....they do love chickens, so I am going to look for some SQ and get the ball rolling here.

Now to just figure out what kind to show.....

I'd love to hatch some of those but since I have two geldings I'm not liking my chances.

Edit to ask, what are they? Momma looks too light for QH which I assumed they'd be from your hat.

LOL! DH is a cowboy from the get go. He's heading back to Wyoming next month to work on a 10,000 acre ranch. That's how he always dresses. When we first met 15 years ago he only owned jeans and cowboy boots. He will now, on occasion wear jogging pants or shorts, with his cowboy boots!

The colt is a full Thoroughbred. His sire stands in PA.

KathyinMO - Thanks! you can come visit him in a few months!!!

DH is wainting to have soemthing to ride again. He was riding this mare until we bred her. He told her if she got in foal on the first cover he'd not ride her any more. Guess how many covers it took?! ONE! I guess she didn't want to be ridden in that ancient 300lb western saddle! LOL!

But I know what you mean about the feed bill. It hurts every time I go to the mill. With spring coming on hopefully we can cut back a bit. Must sell a couple horses soon!

"Will they Hatch?" good question! I have 3 silkie eggs left in the bator, today is day 22. I heard peeping yesterday morning, and pecking. Now over 24 hrs later, nothing.

Impatiently I checked the cracked eggs today, and it looks like something is developing inside of them. Same with my double yolker .
