Welcome! [I really figured this thread would have died before now.] I'm thinking you're going to hatch some of those eggs.

The foaming one died. I helped it a little further out, but it was deformed with a long thin torso and a huge bulge up on it's neck near the head. The one zipping down the shell the long way stalled out after 24 hours. It made it from the fat end to the thin end and was pushing, so I gave it a crack up the other side and put it back into the 'bator. It finished on it's own and is fine now.

Of the others 14 are out and well. 2 more pipping, one zipping, and 14 still no action. It's only day 21, so I still have hope.

There's always going to be dissappoitments; but they're always followed by a blessing soon after.

Like 3 pips from the 6 surviving eggs!!

I'm new to chickens and new to eggs...and I ran out and bought an incubator and put some eggs from my neighbors chickens in the bator....I see alot of people talking about lockdown, what is this? I now you have to stop turning the eggs 3 days before hatch so do I just unplug the egg turner or do I take the egg turner completely out?

At 18 days you stop turning and raise humidity to maybe 65%. I set them pointy end down in egg carton bottoms with vent slits cut to aid air flow; but some just lay them down on their sides. I wouldn't want the mess they make getting on my turning racks, and I believe most people remove the turner as I do. From then on it's lockdown; the lid remains closed to maintain the higher humidity............... the exception I've made is to raise the lid for a couple of seconds to dump heat or humidity during spikes of either.
