OK, I have an update and questions....first, I set the bator up 8am Super Bowl Sunday (two weeks ago), so was yesterday (Sunday) day 14 or 15? I thought someone said you don't count day one until 24 hours has passed???? Second, they go into lock down on day 18? That's why I need to know how exactly to count because lock-down will be at the end of the week.
So I candled last night with my computer opened to the day by day egg candling examples and compared my 22 eggs.
I got:
17 with great possibilities, two of those I believe I saw moving
3-5 are questionable because they're Americaunas and the shell is hard to see through
1 never developed at all and one looks like it's a day 6, so is that one a quitter or could it still be alive?
So IF my results are close to being right (only my second time candling so I'm not that good at it) I'll be getting a lot more chicks then I thought. Remember, these were from my girls I lost to "something", a couple of weeks ago. So 3 were from the morning I found them and went into the fridge for about 2 hours (before I got out of shock and had the great idea to hatch whatever of the eggs from my girls that I could), had 4 from the day before, in the fridge for overnight and then 15 that varied from 3 days to 1 1/2 weeks (at the most) in the fridge.
Any recommendations or suggestions at this point? Thanks!
