Ivory shifted into bat form and flew away from her coven and to Shovar, enjoying the breeze. Unlike a lot of people in the vampire covens, she could withstand the sunlight for quite a while, and she'd been out a lot lately. She landed on the tree outside of her old house, hanging upside down on a branch. She could see her older brother, Marcus, inside doing his homework. She smiled to herself. She missed interacting with her brother. They were very close before she died, and were best friends. She'd seen him a few weeks after her death, of course, not in person, and he seemed as if he had been the one that died. Over the years, two years to be exact, he'd gotten better, as had her parents, though, he still seemed to have changed, not being as outgoing and active as he use to be. And it hurt her to see him like that. Today, he seemed better.
Marcus had the weirdest feeling that he was being watched and looked out the window. Outside, hanging from the tree in the front yard was a bat, hanging upside down on a branch. He'd seen the bat a lot, always near his house, or in the park, or at his school. It was as if it was watching him, and it was kind of weird. He shrugged and turned back to his homework.
