I haven't had personal experience with either the d'uccles or pekins.

Mine was a cochin, I've heard there breed is very similar to pekin. This is my rooster

Ah, yes, I've also heard they could be aggressive but are usually friendly natured. Maybe yours was just aggressive for some unknown reason but I'm sure they aren't usually aggressive. Have you seen a Japanese bantam?

Yes I have I raised Japanese, in black tail. I enjoyed them, very shy birds.
