So far in the poll Silver Laced Wyandottes are in the lead by three votes mine is absolutely wonderful!

I purchased my first Wyandottes about a year ago. I bought 2 gold laced pulleys from TSC and a silver laced roo from a friend. Both hens are the same color but one hen has a regular comb and the other has the flat, wide comb. Why is that?

Yes they are well tempered bird love them with all my heart! What is strange is according to Google Wyandotte's are supposed to be aggressive both of mine are super sweet and tolerant I guess you just have to handle them are they are nice!

Don't get sucked in by general traits of chickens. Each chicken has its own personality. "Flighty" leghorns is also not true.

Now I say that and I was apprehensive about getting a Wyandotte for the same reason, "they are supposed to be aggressive". Sansa is our "extra" hen. I agreed to take her so I would not break up 3 hens that had grown up together.

She was aggressive with the other two at first and I was worried but she is just a total sweetheart. Here is my sweety. She just started laying a week ago.

Has anyone here ever crossed a BLRW with a Welsummer? I am looking for some pics and general info. A friend gave me some eggs for my incubator. Their roo is a beautiful BLRW and they have Welsummer, Speckled Sussex and Blue Sapphire hens.

I have hatched some BLRW chicks most are 2 of them are darker red and especially red heads. Are there indicators to the sec of the chick in this breed according to their colors @ 3 weeks of age?
