I have hatched some BLRW chicks most are 2 of them are darker red and especially red heads. Are there indicators to the sec of the chick in this breed according to their colors @ 3 weeks of age?

It's very common to see straight combs in hatchery Wyandottes.. I don't know of breeders doing it but I think contract farms do. Anyways, it's been shown that to keep only rose comb birds is to essentially breed out your fertility eventually (especially if not bringing in new blood) as several generation down the road something connected with rose comb gene has been shown to slow sperm motility. I actually like straight combs best but rose combs are growing on me (minus the fertility thin since I intend to breed).I have 2 GLW. 1 rooster and 1 hen.
