The Wyandotte Thread

I was wondering if anyone could help with Gender on some wyandotte mixes. I got better photos today. This is the one in question. I am trying to work on lining up homes for the roosters and I would have to give it away and have it be a pullet

They are only 4 weeks old, but one other I know is a rooster for sure, but he has a single comb. I have never had this type of comb

I have seen this one peck on the other chicks and pull out some down.

Mixes are tough because they don't follow the normal rules, especially the combs. I would say at 4 weeks if the comb is red it usually is a cockerel. Wait until 6-8 weeks and repost an update.

Just got my ten gold and silver wyandottes yesterday! :D :D

My chick just crowed, my 12 week old Barred Rock cockerels were taking turns practicing their crows when my buff Wyandotte crowed. I thought she was a pullet, she has a flat comb and no wattles. I don't rember seeing any saddle feathers, but will take a closer look.

Was it a real crow or maybe she was practicing?
