My two new baby girls. I was wondering if their color is supposed to look so "scattered" and "messy"?

This is Paisley she is a BLR.

Their first feathers can be messy like that....I think.... I am mixing up my breeds in my brain at the moment....

But I DO know, with many breeds, that often the first juvenile feathers are all kinds of whatever and you don't completely know what you have until the adult feathers come in.

I havey two SLW in with some mutts i hatched and their "mom" and "siblings".

We picked up a good deal today 11 month old Blue Laced Red hen. She been penned with Blue Ameraucana roos, so we're excited if we get a few eggs. She's in now with my Lavender Orpington, until I can find her a blew roo.

Could this wyandotte mix be a pullet looking like this at 5 weeks? One group I am in says its a pullet, but watching its behavior and what it looks like I say male.

In theory, this cross will give you blue laced birds and blacks, all split for lavender.
