The Wyandotte Thread

next to a bantam wyandotte....it is just funny how odd looking this guy is compared to the others. He does lay down alot because he is so heavy, but mostly in front of the food bowl....LOL

In the last picture that Bantam chick looks scared to death.
Nice chick bet he/she would improve any line with a size problem.

cute So is that chick a keeper? It would be fun to watch it grow up.
Nice hatch from what I have seen.

we will keep it and see what happens....maybe the others will catch up. We have been breeding for size, but i think this was a fluke.

Hey Mrs. Turbo you need to put my silver penciled bantam back in his brooder and leave him alone....That BLRW chick might step on him.

That chick is from a trio I put together to improve size on my BLRW...there are some more like that from last weeks hatch, I like how wide his head looks..I should get some monsters out of that breeding, but no doubt that chick will be a boy.

And now you can see why the bantam wyandottes have to have their own brooder...

Cool so you going to keep us updated on that nice chick?

I think it's a very good thing y'all are keeping it. There would have been a war for just one chick!

Well I hope the chick far fills it's large size for you fluke or not best of luck to both of you.

Wow! That chick is a Goliath! Just look at those legs. They look like little tree trunks. I hope he grows up nice so you can use him for breeding. Wouldn't that be cool if he added some size to all his offspring? I'm assuming he's a roo from looking at those chunky legs.

he reminds me of one of those charactors with the muscling on the muscling.
(double muscled cows- check those out or double muscled greyhounds)

Turbo....thats what your SP bantam chicks look like? Hmm??? Interesting...... I dont think I have ever had one come out like that(that light in color) honestly......mine are always greyish brown in the down, light undersides with black and brown stripes on their backs.....
AND WOW....if u were breeding those for size you definetely found a good recipe for it! Mongo is a whopper!

Hey Hoppy do you have any chicks hatched out yet from that cross yet?...if you do can you post some pictures once they get feathered out..I know what the chicken calculator says you will get is sometimes different than what you really get or you can PM me some pics.

Jerry

hey Jerry, I just picked up the babies. there are 4 brown that look like they will be blr but have a silvery cast over the brown on 2 of them (real suttle) and 2 are yellow, suspect they are splash (but not laced) and 1 pure white which was a white to white breeding.
on sex, we have all the browns are boys except one I think is a girl and the splashs and white are girls.
