hehehehe, my mom was getting used to fresh eggs than whamo the broody bug hit and has refused to leave. She is on that Atkins diet so was not happy about the fresh egg supply drying up.

I can understand that! Both of us are low-carbing it "Atkin's style" and we buy 5 dozen eggs every other week! Sometimes every week, it depends on how much baking I'm doing (or how many days in the week I give up on breakfast and don't cook it, lol).

I would gues you are correct. One of my pullets has the same little doo-flappy pointy thing at the top of her little mini-comb too! Mine will be 12 weeks old middle of next week and still have combs about like your first too.
