The Wyandotte Thread

Ok, So Im new to having chickens and we know we have Wyandotte chickens because we ordered a mixture of them but we dont know what kind we have. Any help on what kind they are would be wonderful!!! Here are some pics of my babies!!
They are 3 weeks old, and PLZ if you see any signs of roosters, SAY SO!!! We live in a neighborhood in town and it would not be a good thing!

Wyandottes(IMO) are easier to sex by looks once they get around 3 weeks old. Their combs will get pinker and bigger but the girls will stay yellow/pink/black. My baby roosters are some of the sweetest in the bunch too.

Here's some photos of my 3.5wk old Wyandottes

Pullets: (one of Right is a runt)

Cockerals:

Black Pullet in the middle:

& just because I think these 2 are so cute.... Pullets (although the one on the right is worring me!)

[/quoteA These pics are helpful. We have 15 wyandottes that are 3.5 weeks old. We have a really hard time figuring out if we have any cockerels or not. It seems that the silver laced are very difficult to tell if the combs are yellow or turning pink. I thank it must be the contrasting black that is making it so deceiving. Just looking, we think all of our silver laced could be cockerels...I know the hatchery couldn't be that inaccurate! We ordered from chickensforbackyards.com.

When I ordered from McMurray I got 75% cockerels and I ordered pullets, so it happens. The easiest way for me to tell with my SLW is to watch tail feather development. The boys always take forever to grow a tail. They also seem to have more of an upright posture and just act more manly.

Here is my three-and-a-half-week-old at the far left of the image with my Ameraucanas that are the same age or one week younger. Look at his tail compared to the others. Plus, he is missing so many feathers you can see skin!!
