The Wyandotte Thread

This bird isn't a Golden Laced. If anything it's sort of a Buff Laced which is not a recognized variety. To answer your question, yes, Duane has Golden Laced Wyandottes.
Yes, I know he's not Gold Laced, I am just interested in finding some good hens for him to breed. I currently have 5 GL pullets that are almost to POL but would love to have some better quality GL girls for him. He is Buff Laced, he's more golden than darker buff like most have seen.

Maybe his wimpy tail will fill out some this molt

And thanks for the price list, I can see his chicks are $7/ea so I may just order some next year.

Here are some pictures of the silver penciled. They aren't the best pictures but still nice enough to get an idea. Foley said penciled breeds have barred feathers when they are young and after more maturity they will be penciled.
I agree the son does the bantams but Jerry said his son takes care of that by himself. He says he'll come into the barn and he will have gone through and picked all the best chickens. He doesn't help at all lol. The chicken husbandry and skills have definitely rubbed off on his kids :).

I posted previously about one of my GL pullets that I thoguht had a rather large comb for a girl. She's older now and almost at laying age and her comb has gotten bigger, but, it has stayed close to her head and not grown much farther back... just gotten wider I guess.

Does anyone think this is something that she would likely pass onto her chicks? I'm not sure what the standard says about a hen with a wide comb but it seems to me like it shouldn't be so wide.
