The Wyandotte Thread

Hey Everyone, Wanted to share a picture of my Black cockeral. My mothers been raising a group of chicks for me and he's been with them but tonight I finally remembered my camera when I went over there. He is one of PeakyBeaky's babies :) He's a Monster already. Just 3 months old and nearly as big as my 10 month odl niece! Just starting to get his beautiful roo feathers too.

A few of my other 'Dotte babies... These are from my birds. Most of the Splash ended up being roos.

I have about 70 Cochin bantams in 7 varieties and show 5 of those varieties. I decided I would not get another variety or breed that would show in the same class. After looking at the Ohio Nationals and seeing NO Gold Laced Bantams I decided to try to find some decent GLW bantams. This is what I found.

I understand that one of the reasons is that the Cochins are involved in the lineage of the Wyandottes. They certainly have many similiar characteristics ...personality, flocking instincts, broodiness, motherly instincts, weather tolerance, fertility, feathering, foraging skill.....
