While more narrow across the butt than I like to see, this bird does have some tenting although not strong. I like the rear to be at least as wide as my palm and thumb.What kind of tail is this?

I always thought of that shape of a tail as a clam, so it looks that way because it is lacking a hard feather and instead has a soft feather?
