I really like your silver pencilled birds. How long have you been working on them? Where did you get your breeding stock? We also have SP but only in bantam at this time. Did I read correctly that you also have bantams?
cochins tend to mature faster, but yes, if they have any wattle/comb development turning pink before 3 months old, chances are it's a roo.Can I inquire about chick development here? These are HATCHERY CHICKS. I purchased them 2-1/2 weeks ago. I am an old Black Bantam Cochin guy that has hatched & raised 100s of chicks from them. They were for showing. I know that with them Cockerels tend to develop combs much earlier then pullets & that a comb that develop & color early are a definite sign of a Cockerel. Do Wyandotte chick exhibit the same differences between cockerels & pullets? Is it reasonable top assume that a bird who's come starts growing & starts getting red (pink in this case0 are probably Cockerels?
