The Wyandotte Thread

Does anyone have pics they can post of blue wyandottes that show the blue/black/splash contrast? I have some blues and they all look the same, especially the roos. There's no obvious difference in their color. I also have BLRWs and can easily identify b/b/s. These blues are tricky...for me anyway.
The picture of the roo I my last set of pics is a splash. Feathers are still coming in, but does that help?

dracoe, thanks! I hope you are right

these were the ons we have decided to keep for now, from these guys. Anxious.y waiting to hear updates on hatching chicks :) hoping to get some better stock next go round, as this one was not too fantastic. Still need to get some BLR pullets, and a good BLR roo.

HI all, I posted pictures in the gender breed thread and I believe the consensus was that my girls are all Wyandottes. I of course was trying to pick out at least one Speckled Sussex but I am obviously drawn to the Wyandottes! =)

I am hoping that this little girl is indeed a little girl and is a BLW. Let me know what you think.

1) Is she a she?
2) Is she a BLW?

If you need more specific photos, I would be happy to take them and re-post.

Thanks!!!

I got my new chicks from delisha today!!!!

I got 8 total: 3 black orpington, 2 americauna (1 splash and 1 black), 3 blr wyandottes (2 splash and 1 blue). Hopefully they are all girls, but we did our best!

The 3 orpingtons are 4 weeks old and are outside in the coop with Mr. Gibs. The others are just babies (3 days I think). I initially had them in the garage, but I felt that it was too drafty and cold in there, so I moved them into the basement.

They are sleeping, so I'll have to get pics of them later.
