The Wyandotte Thread

Quote: My first question is why are they not BLACK. They are grey, not blue really but not black for sure. WHY? If they are SLW I would not breed them because if the color issue alone. Maybe it can be improved on but I would think that would be a ton of culling.

I've seen "Violet Laced Wyandottes" but they're clearly laced in blue.... this pullet here is such a Bizarre shade of grey, almost like a watercolor, a little see-thru looking.

where did they come from? that might help narrow down the options, if it's a breeder that's known to work on project colors. i know someone else was trying for a chocolate laced, so anything's possible.

Haley I am glad you posted a pic of your chick cause I was wondering if the breeded messed up the chicks I got . First time glw owner and was uncertain about the way they were colored. And mine look just like yours they are 6wks

I am glad to know someone has GLW chicks that are the same age as mine! Please keep in touch because I would love to hear about how yours are doing and compare how they are growing to make sure mine are on the right track!

I put them in a wire pen so my older birds won't harm them just in case. I have 10 buffs thst are grown and 10 six week old glw. Also a trio of crele bantams and a pair of barred bantams.
