The Wyandotte Thread

BLRW...  applies to black and splash laced reds too...

I know the the colors well, I did lots of research before I chose.
I believe of the four blrw I have, one is a splash, one definitely a black, and one definitely a blue, and one that is a darker blue or a black.

My slw roo is about 6 months old and has 3 lovely girls, but I'm a little concerned about his eye colour. Has anyone seen light blue eyes on a Wyandotte ? I will try to get a photo when the fog clears tomorrow .

Not that I'm aware of unfortunately unless they are older chicks. By that point, you'd probably be able to tell by the wattles/comb as well. The comb and wattles on my blrw rooster started developing at only a few weeks.

Is there a way to sex laced Wyandotte chicks by color patterns? Found some chicks! But they are being sold straight run. And I really don't need any Roos lol.

Greetings! I am new to BYC and new to Wyandottes! I am a life long enjoyer of fowl, but I've dealt exclusively with McMurray hatchery chicks. This spring I have built a new coop and run complete with two breeding pens and I am looking to get a start in some higher quality birds. Is there such thing as a hatchery that offers good and 'typey" Wyandottes? If not, does anyone have some hatching eggs for sale? I have incubated many times, but always from my own stock. I am willing to give shipped eggs a try!
Thank you so much for your time,
Cal Cunningham

I'm located in North Western Arkansas, the Fort Smith area.
I have been searching the internet and have come across a Foley's Waterfowl who raises SL and BLR, they are currently offering some eggs. Their birds look quite nice. Does anyone have experience with these folks?
