The Wyandotte Thread

interesting tho that it seems selective for which rose combed breeds it affects...

the rose comb dorking breeders (red, white and colored varieties) I've asked haven't had any single combs pop up, nor do they have fertility issues.
One of my Rr cocks I have in with three hens and I am getting 1/6 ratio of SC offspring. I am guessing it maybe one of the hens is also Rr....

The other Rr cock has three hens and I have not gotten any SC offspring.

can somebody tell me if she is show quality. her foot is not always twisted like that and her legs are not that short. she might be molting she is over a year old and i can get more picks.

Do you have a picture of her standing a bit more relaxed? She is squating a bit which makes it difficult to determine type. Color looks good though it looks like she has a bit of shafting.

WHAT IS SHAFTING WILL GET PICS

this is a silver grey dorking hen, but a good example of shafting, which is actually part of this breed's standard...

shafting is a lighter (or different) colored shaft of the feather from the vane (body).

take a look at the feather article linked in my sig for more in-depth info.
