The Wyandotte Thread

My old girl, Sally, was hunched over looking 'wrong'. As I lifted her tail to see if she was egg bound I saw a load of lice egg clusters. The 4 wellies were brought home and bathed.

As I was bathing Sally I noticed her crop was huge! It is the size of a baseball. It is not 'beanbag' like nor 'squishy'. It is a solid lump. I have given her olive oil and massaged it but, is there anything else I can do? I have a scalpel and vicryl or opsite. Should I just cut it out or is that instant murder?

Try a FLAT coke. The acids will eat away at what ever it is in her crop.

I just googled it. I can find lime leaves and lime seeds. Which one do you mean please?
He means kefir, like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kefir
It's available in most big groceries in the dairy section, or at health food stores.

Feed stores also stock probiotics for chickens that you can try, but kefir and yogurt are more active cultures than dry probiotics, which are dormant.
