The Wyandotte Thread

No idea..... Guy bought them and ended up with just cockerels..... I think they might be pretty but no idea what to do with them. I will play with the calculator.

If they are truly Crele genetically and carrying the e+ they could be used in a Wybar project with results similar to the Rhodebars using the e+ and the double barring factor.

Basically Crele would have barring, so bred to a laced birds and possibly some non laced birds you could use the double barring for autosexing characteristics on the eb and ER (such as in the Golden Cuckoo Marans).

I wonder if the Crele Wyandottes are auto sexing as is based on the double barring.

If they carry the e+ then they could very well be autosexing as is.

My wybar project is based on barring only on eb as the originals are based on, but to be able to add the e+ would be very much the same as the Rhodebars, based on two autosexing characteristics double barring and wild type chick down.

LOL I know the feeling. This Wybar project has gone from Gold to Gold and Silver to Gold Silver and Violet Laced. I am feeding more grow outs then it is worth and I have already culled over a hundred just to get one gold and one silver female and a handful of others that are usable but not preferred. Fortunately or unfortunately my Violet laced male appears to have wry tail, so that project may be on hold for a while.

The projects are FUN and that keeps me interested..... hehe.... I will see what that roo will cost me and I will see what I can do with the BLRW and SLW.... I have some that are not great for breeding in the lacing department so I will try them first. They are laced just not well..... or do they need to be laced well???? I have more growing out.
