I agree we need a better picture to tell much of anything about them. How old are they?

I've been following this thread since I have a few young birds. This is my girl, Sunny, who is broody just now. There's no rooster, so I take her off the nest on a regular basis and she is soooooo ticked! Look at how her feathers are fluffed. I think she looks like a miniature turkey!

Can someone please tell me which variety of BLRW these young roos are? These are my first BLRW chicks and I'm completely confused in differentiating the splash from the blue.

I may be incorrect but splash is just one step of BLUE. As far as I can explain BLUE does does not breed true until severl genrations and you will usually have at least 25% which come out splash. This applies to any breed while using a Black rooster over a "Blue" hen. In order to understand genetics one must read and then read some more and then breed and breed some more if you are like me and need to do something in order to understand. Many of the folks here on BYC have been working long and hard to get the understanding and experience to breed the birds that they have.

I currently breed BBS Cochins and blue wheaten Ameraucana, so I'm pretty comfortable with the blue genetics.

But since these are my first BLRW chicks, I just can't tell by looking at them which ones are blue and which ones are splash? I do have other chicks from the same hatch that are black, and even some that are a beautiful dark blue...but I'm unsure about these 2 in particular.
