The Wyandotte Thread

My last SLW, she was never broody, but she never made it to her first birthday (stupid racoons), she was a hatchery hen, but was beautiful (at least to me!) She had an excellent laid back personality and would let us pick her up and carry her around. However, she was a little bossy with the other girls, but it wasn't bad. After we lost her, we had to get two more SLW's, the flock seemed incomplete without one. I need to post some pics....not sure about their exact age or sex!

Hello Nancy!!!
I agree with you!! I love all the Wyandottes!! If they lay that's fine....if they don't lay that's also fine with me. The 4 SL Wyandotte hens I have are about a year old now.......they lay very well and as of yet haven't gone broody. I'm not sure if they're hatchery hens or not...I bought them as hatching eggs on eBay. To me they're beautiful, friendly and hardy....that's all that matters to me. My BLRW's are merely chicks yet(except for my 2 full grown rescued roos).....so I'll find out in time about their broodiness...or lack thereof.
