Just to further clarify BCBrian's explanation, a blrw can carry one copy of the co-dominant blue andalusian gene, but then it appears as a "blue" phenotype. It can also carry 2 copies of the gene which is expressed as "Splash". The black laced phenotype does not carry the blue andalusian gene. Some people find black laced very useful in their breeding program, so they can have value. In essence, the black lace is the same as a golden lace. Some lines simply have a more reddish look to the gold pattern.
