I got what you were saying and I knew somebody would pop up and say something about RC White Leghorns......
Better example might be say an Asiatic....If you see a Partridge bird with a single comb and feather legs....you are gonna think its a Cochin....if you saw the same bird with a pea comb...you are gonna think its a Brahma.......Combs define breeds....its is part of their type that distinguishes them from other breeds.

and YES the horse is dead laying on the ground as all of us stand around, legs in motion against it.................

Here is a picture of three of the 6 chicks I got from the Foley's this fall, I have thought up until this week the middle was a hen. So much smaller than the other roos. Suddenly one morning I noticed long tail feathers!!! What do you all think?

You can see how much smaller it is than the one on the left.

This is Zebedee who is a giant bird but sweet as sugar.

that is what I thought too, but I was holding out hope

They usually catch up in size as they mature out.....you will see a few that are smaller from the same hatch or age...in the end they usually end up the same size..unless that one Black cockerel is just a monster...and trust me I have a few running around here that are huge.

They probably will get pretty close to the same size. On the other hand, is that a bird you want to use as a breeder? He is slow growing and that, to me, is a very negative attribute. Growth rate is also very, very heritable. Which means he will definitely pass it on the next generation. Plus, I love grilled chicken
