The Wyandotte Thread

Here is my very first chick from my trio of BLRW (splash). This one is about 5-6 weeks old.

Looking good robert. My chicks arent quite that big yet but they look a lot like yours. How many do you have? My breeding group consists of 1 rooster, 1 cockeral, and 3 pullets. They have just started to lay well.

I have a trio (all splash BLR) They have been laying very well since about January. I have 2 more that hatched this weekend (I had 4 hatch, but 2 didn't make it.) These are mostly for eggs for the family to eat, but i do steal a couple here and there to put in the bator. I have not had very good fertility (only about 40-50%) I hope that will improve with the warmer wather (if we ever get it back). Maybe I need a new rooster??? This group will be a year old at the end of May.
I hope my hamburgs are doing well for you. Are you hatching eggs yet?

Robert

I just tried to post this, but something glitched. Again - here are three SLWs that I got (3 weeks old). One is very much whiter than the other two... is this common? Are there variations on silver laced?
Thanks for any clarifications!

Thank you! I am really enjoying this breed. I just hatched my first chicks from the SLWs and these will be the first BLRW chicks. I would like to keep a pen of about 10 of them. They are just so darned pretty to look at!
