I had some extra time tonight,so I went out and snapped a few photos on my phone. Sorry if the lighting is bad or if some are blurry. This is our 8 month old splash blrw cockerel from the Foley's. I think he's turning out pretty nice??? I think he has a pretty wide skull, but I'm not sure....any critiques?

That picture looks like it's more than likely a SLW...hatcheries just aren't very picky about what they raise and sell as far as lacing and coloring.

Thanks! Well, I enjoy surprises... I was just amazed at how different the three chicks were - two almost black and this one almost white! I can't wait to see how they end up color-wise!

I'm not raising them for show or breeding.

Is he a banty? He is looking a little rough. I would like redder hackle color, its more gold looking, lacing on chest is ok.

There are photos of other blrw roos on this thread, how does he compare do you think?

From a feedstore... here's a better picture of the lighter one at about one week... can any of the experienced Wyandotte raisers comment? Did I get SLWs or something else?

I bought 3 from TSC for my general layer flock this year and after a week I noticed that one of them had a straight comb. I thought that it was a definate indication that hatcheries don't watch what they're breeding.
