The Wyandotte Thread

Typically the first sign is leg thickness, the males develop a much heavier leg than the females, this can ussually be noticed in the 4-5 week time frame, the wattles of the males will begin to develop more in the 8-10 week timeline some breeder lines are slower than others though so hang in there.

Here is our lastest addition. He is 6 weeks:

These are my first chickens! I took these last night when we got them home, so pardon the quality, it was dark! They are 12 week old silver laced wyandotte's:

One of our cats is already in love, the little gray pictured. He was head bonking and eating with them and just loving it

Ok Wyandotte breeders. I understand the difference in hatchery and breeder quailty, but I have searched the web, and cant seem to find a LF GLW breeder.

ANyone can guide me to a breeder? Or is this a lost cause?

Thanks for the help. I really have been looking at breeds and would like to buy from a breeder.

Here are my two BLRW, Abigail and Charlotte, hatched 2/19/11. When would I expect to see an egg from these girls? (Some silly folks with bad eyesight have told me that Abigail might actually be a rooster but I am ignoring them for now

They are SO sweet and comical and I love them but omg what a couple of piggies. They actually grunt when I bring out the food.

On GLWs
Pauls poultry has them... and Duane Urch also. I've emailed duane and he's very nice. The Foleys are going to have them next year I think to! And they are great at answering emails and PMs.
