The Wyandotte Thread

I have been busy with fall cleaning and spring planning. Just wondering who all has dun laced wyandotte bantams? The flock we had was sold and the birds were lost. I know Kyblue has some birds from my original stock and I plan on getting some eggs from them in the spring. Who else has bantam dun laced that will have eggs in the spring?

Tonight we found our Mature BLR rooster dying. I wrapped him in a towel and took him inside. The kids and I were with him when he passed. Wasn't the least bit sick and no other birds are acting strange. He just turned 2yo.

RIP, Mr. Witmer, aka "Brett". He was a gentle, caring, friendly rooster.

He was my daughter, Rachel's show bird.

It's never easy to lose them..especially when it's unexpected!

Thank you both. It's going to be weird in the morning not hearing him crow or to see him again. Never thought we'd get so attached to a chicken! Darn things

Both my kids have influenza, so this week has been a mess as it is(off school, fever 104, coughing for week)...now to loose him, just stabs them in the heart. They stood in their PJ's as we buried him tonight-that just about killed me to watch.

WOW, the great Wyandotte thread was all the way on page 7. How are the new members going to easily find it without me bumping it back to page one with some new pictures?

This guy will be replacing PeakyBeaky's lost rooster. All these BLRs will be headed back over to her place next week.
