Well we finally got all the wyandottes separated in their own coops. SLWs and BLRWs have their own coops/runs.
Soooo Turbos!!! of the 16 SLW Chicks you sent me (none have died by the way, healthy little bugers
8 are hens and 8 are roosters! I couldn't be happier! Thanks! Now I have plenty of Roosters to choose from. Oh and all have rose combs!
This years' hatch is finally "grown" - still have some filling out to do though! I know they're not fetching a Best in Show title, but I'm pretty pleased with them
The only downside is I bought 6 SLW chickens from a breeder hoping for a roo (as I only have GLW roo atm) and all 6 turned out to be pullets
Yep, there's always next year. On the bright side, you could always make sex-linked wyandottes with a gold rooster over silver hens, right?
I sure can! And will - though that'll give GLW pullets and mix roos... It will bring new genes to the GLW flock though, so it's the plan come spring. (It's very hany though, as I can weed out all the roo chickens after a week or two!) We'll have to get some fresh blood in our SLW flock, so need to look elsewhere for a new SLW roo
I already have my eye on one breeder's flock so hoping they'll have hatching eggs come spring!
