She looks to have a nice tight fitting comb which is really good . Would love to see a clearer picture of her markings. Also one were we can see her over all shape then we will all be able to give much more input .

Your two silvers look very nice! Would love to see some better picture of them. The hen looks like she has very nice markings and good type from the picture. Can't really tell type for the roo but coloring looks nice and crisp. The other two chickens look like splash blue laced reds. That's my guess because of the darkness of the mahogony red which is the standard in blue laced reds.

Theres no blue in the red pullet or cock bird. I'll try and get some clearer pictures tomorrow. Thanks for the reply

Her coloring looks a little fuzzy but that doesn't mean she is not a quality bird. If she has good size and type those are the traits, a judge for instance, would pick over a well marked bird with horrible type. Nice marking are always a plus but what makes a Wyandotte is its shape/ type which is the most important trait. Can't wait to see more pictures !

The BLRW come in three colors: black, blue, splash. Black have no dilution gene, blue have one copy of the dilution gene, splash have two copies of the dilution gene. Your two birds look like splash. If you breed them together all the babies will be splash. If you breed one of them to a black you will get 100% blues.

In the UK the colour is sold as Buff, however these two are a whole lot darker now than when we bought them. I'm not convinced at all that they are BLRW. I personally think they are a dark Buff laced. As soon as i have 6 eggs i'll find out as i intend to breed as soon as possible from these birds.

It would be interesting if you breed them to a black and see if you get blue chicks.

I'll certainly breed them with my Silver laced, we are always on the look out to find new colours to play with.

Is there a place where you can see a picture of what a "top show" Wynadotte looks like? I have a rooster that I think is just beautiful, but I've never shown. He's still very young, only 5 months, but he's really coming in to his own and comes from good stock. Thanks!
