Yes. These F1 Birchens are from breeding a Columbian Wyandotte roo over three selected Australorp hens. The project goal is a nice dual purpose bird with the CW temperament and broodiness. I will work on the breeding to continue the Birchen pattern.

The Blues and Black are from breeding the same Columbian roo to my Blue Wyandotte hen and hatching every egg she laid.

Very interesting crosses. I hatched SLW roo over Red Sex Link and all six chicks came out looking like Columbian Wyandottes....I hatched a SLW roo over Australorp and that chick has barring on his chest and body is black (3 weeks old).

Well what about the plucked pair? I think they were the older pair you got that you said you hatched 7 eggs from the hen already but you were worried about the roo's fertility.

Has anyone who hatched SLW ever had a black tint on their legs? I bought some eggs from a breeder and only one hatched and he looks like he has blackish tint...

Yeah, I would just put her in with another roo, otherwise it is a waste to have her sit. Is she a steady layer?
