We had our first dusting of snow of the season last night and this morning my birds walked right out of their pen as if nothing new was going on...They are eating some of the slush...but they don't seem fazed by the white stuff

We are getting some snow right now and mine don't seem to like it too much. Maybe because it is still half rain.

We got our first snow of the season last night - only about an inch. When I opened the coop this morning, our little girls (born in Feb.) piled out just like usual. The two big girls, who have been in snow before, took one look outside and never left the coop. The little girls seemed confused and pecked at the snow. About 5 minutes later everybody had retreated back into the coop. They eventually made it out into the snow and seemed fine with it.

Guess what?

We won't get ANY this winter.

Gotta love it.

Mahonri, from paradise. (November thru April)
