Barred rock- Dot
White leghorn-Duck

Yeah---I wanted the hens to sound like a colonial Puritan sewing circle! And Abajah, the preacher.

Porcelain D'Uccle roo - Sissy Face (seriously the most useless roo EVER. we originally named him Marshmallow but that name seemed to masculine after we got to know him)
Porcelain D'Uccle pullet - Sugar
MF D'Uccle pullets - Ginger and Spice
Dominique pullets - Ellen and Anne Marie (after characters in the book "Number the Stars")
Barnyard mix hens - Bawk and Squawk
Americauna pullets - Daphne and Velma
EE pullets and hens -
Chewie (short for Chewbacca),
Princess (as in Leia),
Winter (a white EE who is Princess' best friend,
Vader (she's big, black, has half a wing and a bad attitude),
Tarkin (Vader's BFF and grey),
and finally Buford (ala Phineas and Ferb)

I like to wait untill I see the personalities in all my babies before naming them. It took me a little bit to find the right ones for my 7 girls but I decided on
Gloria (Mamma hen from Milo and Otis)
Sammy (A friend has daughter with that name)
Nisan ( My brother named her because of the truck he inherited from our dad)
Biscuit (I just got this stuck in my head and it sounded good)
Friday (My friend named her when she got her for me)
Noomi (Main character from Girl who kicked the hornets nest)
Satsu (Little girl from Memoires of a geisha)
I get funny looks when I tell people I named my chickens but I wouldnt have it any other way.

I love all the names here especially the old fashioned ones. My favorite tho is the rooster that is "toast".

I have an Agnes and Annabelle too! The rest of mine are Daisy, Minnie Pearl, Scarlett, Mabelline, Clara, Stella and Beulah.

I have a Daisy and a Clara as well. I really wanted to name one "Hazel" but a friend just named her baby that, so it seemed wrong. We had a Cuckoo Maran, Jessie Ruth, who died on August 16.

I went with most names based on their breed, to make them easier to remember.

Buffy - BO
Delilah - Delaware
Priscilla - BL (Foghorn Leghorn's girlfriend's name)
Cornelius - Welsummer cockerel (the name of the welsummer logo from Kellog's cornflakes)
Marilyn - Welsummer (she was the smartest chick, named for the Ask Marilyn lady - highest IQ)
Dundee - Australorp cockerel (Australian, get it?)
Sheila - Australorp (Australian, get it?

)
Precious - EE (gotta love those little muffs on chicks)
Miranda - Marans
Susie - Sussex
Dusty - Brahma (featherduster feet)
Scarlett - RIR
Molly - BR (she was the biggest chick, named for the big girl on Mike & Molly)
Dottie - GLW

Deb (that's me)
