Quote: XD That's part of raising animals! Those look like BBW(broad breasted whites) and I can see how they would be messier. Get a heritage breed sometime and you'll see why we like 'm! They're very funny and active and follow you around wherever you go. BBWs just kinda sit there from what I've read.

I've never had turkeys, I really want them though!
Oh, you should, Luke! You should.

K, we've always had the BBW, so I'm not to familiar with any other breeds.
:)

I want too! I'm hoping to get some next year. Are they only good for meat or do they lay?

Quote: Oh, they'll lay plenty! Generally they start in the spring after they hatch instead of going with daylight like chickens do. Mine should start this spring. I've got BR as you might have known from my YouTube videos. Here's a link for the rest of ya. Next year I might get another breed. We'll see!

So, yeah. From what I've read they lay like crazy from early spring to early fall. :)

Have you ever done anything else? I'd encourage you to as heritage breeds are much hardier and funner to raise!

No these were our first (they were supposed to make us rich at thanksgiving  but they all died. :/ I have three on my list that I'd love to try, bourbon red, royal Palm and narragansett
