Just noticed lately how pretty the ducks have gotten. Especially Leppy, the little Black Swede. He has gotten so handsome!!

It just amazes me the difference between how they look as ducklings and when they get their adult plumage. Thought I would share one of him, and see if anyone else wants to post their then and now pics!

How gorgeous!!

Im still working on one of mine- a lovely drake that started out just too pretty to be male. He has going through his first molt at the moment and I have a few photos already- and will take another tonight.

This is Noggin when he first went to live outside. I thought he was way to pretty to be a male - and was even doubted- but I knew he was a drake. he is the lighter one in this photo.

Shortly after he started molting.

And now he is almost done with his first molt. I believe he may turn out something like a Saxony in colouring- But I still have to wait and see how he goes with the next molt.

Wow, he is a looker! I can't wait to see how he turns out when he's all done changing. I love watching this process, it's like they change everyday!

My mallards, Alex and Boom-Boom, born April 16, 2010 (thank goodness they were actually both boys! my 6 year old named them)
