Do you keep the male in with the females all the time or only for a short time to mate? Asking bc I want to start breeding quality silkies and maybe show as well. I've seen where the roo's are hard on their hens, especially the head poofs. TIA

I do not have any yet. Getting all my research done first. I plan to have 3-4 hens to 1 rooster. \
